چکیده

We prove a criterion for the global stability of the positive equilibrium in discrete-time single-species population models of the form xn+1 = xnF (xn). This allows us to demonstrate analytically (and easily) the conjecture that local stability implies global stability in some well-known models, including the Ricker difference equation and a combination of the models by Hassel and Maynard Smith. Our approach combines the use of linear fractional functions (Möbius transformations) and the Schwarzian derivative.

A Survey on the Enveloping Method of Some One-dimensional Non-autonomous Discrete Periodic Population Models

For some one-dimensional discrete-time autonomous population models, local stability implies global stability of the positive equilibrium point. One of the known techniques is the enveloping method. In this paper, we present a survey on the enveloping method to study global stability of single periodic population models. In the other words, we present the conditions in which “individual envelop...

Using a new modified harmony search algorithm to solve multi-objective reactive power dispatch in deterministic and stochastic models

The optimal reactive power dispatch (ORPD) is a very important problem aspect of power system planning and is a highly nonlinear, non-convex optimization problem because consist of both continuous and discrete control variables. Since the power system has inherent uncertainty, hereby, this paper presents both of the deterministic and stochastic models for ORPD problem in multi objective and sin...

DYNAMIC COMPLEXITY OF A THREE SPECIES COMPETITIVE FOOD CHAIN MODEL WITH INTER AND INTRA SPECIFIC COMPETITIONS

The present article deals with the inter specific competition and intra-specific competition among predator populations of a prey-dependent three component food chain model consisting of two competitive predator sharing one prey species as their food. The behaviour of the system near the biologically feasible equilibria is thoroughly analyzed. Boundedness and dissipativeness of the system are e...

A regularization method for solving a nonlinear backward inverse heat conduction problem using discrete mollification method

The present essay scrutinizes the application of discrete mollification as a filtering procedure to solve a nonlinear backward inverse heat conduction problem in one dimensional space. These problems are seriously ill-posed. So, we combine discrete mollification and space marching method to address the ill-posedness of the proposed problem. Moreover, a proof of stability and<b...

On a Difference Equation with Exponentially Decreasing Nonlinearity

We establish a necessary and sufficient condition for global stability of the nonlinear discrete red blood cells survival model and demonstrate that local asymptotic stability implies global stability. Oscillation and solution bounds are investigated. We also show that, for different values of the parameters, the solution exhibits some time-varying dynamics, that is, if the system is moved in a...
